Shadra (闇の星・ロマシュマ, Yami no Hoshi: Romashuma, Dark Star: Llowmashmar) is the planet of Darkness in Magical Starsign. It resides within the Baklava Solar System's Sun, sharing the same physical space as Nova in a parallel dimension.[1]

Several hundred million years ago, Shadra was drawn into the Baklava System and merged into the Sun.[2] Around this time, there was a dimensional rift below the surface of Nova that lead to Shadra's domain, but an interplanar collision between plasma and matter sealed it shut.[3]

Shadra emerges when the Sun enters an inactive state, doubling the damage of magic attacks for all Dark-aligned entities. Since the Sun's inner planets do not revolve on an orbit like the other planets, Shadra and Nova swap positions every 3 minutes.

Locations[]

Starway[]

  • A passage that connects Shadra and Nova through their dimensional gap. It activates when the five planets are perfectly aligned with the Sun.

Cocoabutter Valley[]

  • The most expansive part of the planet. This area is made up of small islands connected by bridges which loom over a murky magenta liquid.

Chocomilk Caves[]

  • To escape death at the hands of Kale, hundreds of refugees fled to this cavern by following an illusive sorcerer named Carbon.

Chromagar Cave[]

  • The resting place of Shadra in its larva state. It is filled with magicians who were petrified by gummy fumes, and Shadra feeds off of them for maturation.

Name origin[]

Shadra may be derived from Shade, in reference to its element of Darkness. It could also come from Shandra, which means "of the moon" in Sanskrit.

Its Japanese name, Llowmashmar (ロマシュマ, Romashuma) is an anagram of "marshmallow" (マシュマロ, Mashumaro).

Trivia[]

  • Unlike its Light-elemental counterpart, Shadra's landmass contains no plasma, which classifies it as a neutron star.
